Sqin raises new funding

The healthtech wants to counteract the shortage of dermatologists with artificial intelligence. Now investors are getting on board.
In a pre-seed round, the Berlin start-up Sqin raises almost one million euros. The investors Accel, APX from Berlin and A-round Capital from Munich are participating. Various angels such as Jens Apermann (co-founder of Docmorris), Thomas Faschian (former CEO of Flaconi) and Michael Schummert (former CEO of Babor) are also investing.
Maria-Liisa Bruckert and Martin Pentenrieder founded Healthtech in 2021. The founders have developed an AI-based platform for skin care. Patients are to receive diagnoses in a virtual consultation via an app. This should relieve the burden on dermatology practices in the long term and enable patients to receive advice more quickly. According to the company, more than 150,000 patients are already using the app. In the future, the company plans to expand into international markets in addition to its home market in the DACH region.
"With the help of a digital approach that involves long-standing experts, the sustainable transformation of the industry can succeed," says investor and APX Managing Director Jörg Rheinboldt. "Their solution not only makes doctors more efficient, but also makes the entire treatment process more cost-effective."
