Sustainable transportation of goods: the start-up Tracks has been committed to this goal since 2018. It has now raised two million euros in a recent financing round. The round was led by venture capitalist Mobilityfund, which invests in early-stage European start-ups. The Investitionsbank Berlin and other investors were also involved.

Closing a financing round was a major challenge in times of the pandemic, says founder Jakob Muus and is now happy that it worked out. Muus has already founded three successful start-ups.

Tracks operates a platform that allows companies to check the CO2 emissions of their vehicles. The road freight transport sector is responsible for six percent of European CO2 emissions every year. "The pandemic has clearly shown us that road freight transport is still an essential factor in our society, regardless of the economy," says Jan-Christoph Rickers, Managing Director of Mobilityfund. "We are pleased to be able to make an important contribution to the decarbonization of road freight transport by investing in Tracks."
