Sustainable transport of goods: Since 2018, the start-up Tracks has been dedicated to this goal. In a recent financing round, it has now been able to raise two million euros. The round was led by venture capitalist Mobilityfund, which invests in early-stage European start-ups. Also involved were Investitionsbank Berlin and other investors.

Closing a funding round was a big challenge in times of the pandemic, says founder Jakob Muus and is now glad it worked out. Muus has already completed three successful startup foundings.

Tracks operates a platform through which companies can check the CO2 emissions of their vehicles. In the year, the road freight industry is responsible for six percent of Europe's CO2 emissions. "The pandemic has clearly shown us that road haulage is still an essential factor in our society, regardless of the economy," says Jan-Christoph Rickers, Managing Director of Mobilityfund. "We are pleased to be able to make an important contribution to the decarbonisation of road freight transport with our investment in Tracks."
