TU Dortmund University expands start-up funding

Universities are often regarded as hotbeds of ideas and places where start-ups are founded: in order to promote this development, the Center for Entrepreneurship & Transfer (CET) at TU Dortmund University is now adding three more universities to its support network.
From the idea to the founding of a start-up, any help is welcome: TU Dortmund University also offers support to start-ups in the region through its Center for Entrepreneurship & Transfer (CET). The university is now expanding its support network to include Dortmund University of Applied Sciences, Hamm Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences and Arts and South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences. All three will thus become partner universities within the Excellence Start-up Center (ESC) of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, to which TU Dortmund University belongs.
"Thanks to the different research focuses and departments of our partner universities, we can now support prospective founders even better and help even more good ideas to achieve entrepreneurial success," says CET Board Member Albrecht Ehlers and Chancellor of TU Dortmund University.
The ESC currently consists of six universities and will receive 150 million euros in funding from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia until 2024. The aim is to create interdisciplinary start-up teams and provide advice and support to interested parties. The universities also organize workshops and network meetings, among other things.
