TU Dortmund expands start-up support
Universities are often considered to be hotbeds of ideas and places where start-ups are founded: In order to promote this development, the Centre for Entrepreneurship & Transfer (CET) at TU Dortmund University is now including three more universities in its support network.
From the idea to the founding of a start-up, all help is welcome: TU Dortmund University also offers support to start-ups in the region with its Centrum für Entrepreneurship & Transfer (CET). Now the university is expanding its support network to include Dortmund University of Applied Sciences, Hamm Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences and the University of Applied Sciences Südwestfalen. All three thus become partner universities within the Excellence Start-up Center (ESC) of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, to which TU Dortmund University belongs.
"Thanks to the different research focuses and departments of our partner universities, we can now provide even better support for budding start-ups and help even more good ideas achieve entrepreneurial success," says CET board member Albrecht Ehlers and chancellor of TU Dortmund University.
The ESC consists so far of six universities and is funded until 2024 with 150 million euros from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The aim is for interdisciplinary start-up teams to emerge and for interested parties to be advised and supported during a start-up. In addition, the universities organise workshops and network meetings, among other things.
