Over 13 million euros for Rows

In a recent financing round, Rows not only convinced venture capitalist Lakestar, but also its existing investors.

The start-up Rows has already undergone two name changes and a complete reorientation. It has now raised 13.2 million euros in a recent financing round. Venture capitalist Lakestar from Berlin is leading the round, joined by existing investors Cherry Ventures and Atlantic Labs. In addition, Christian Reber, initiator of Wunderlist, is joining the supervisory board of Rows and is also participating financially. According to the commercial register, the financing took place in October.

Torben Schulz and Humberto Ayres Pereira founded the delivery service Eatfirst in 2016, which failed shortly afterwards. Their experience with Google Sheets then gave rise to the idea for the start-up Rows, which was still called Dashdash until November 2020. Rows' SaaS model offers an alternative to Excel, whereby external data sources such as LinkedIn or Twitter can also be integrated. Spreadsheets can also be converted into web apps.

The beta version of the spreadsheet program was also released with the financing round. So far, 1,000 companies such as Just Eat Takeaway have tested the service. The aim is to gain 1,000 paying customers by the end of the year. Rows has offices in Berlin and Porto and 50 employees.
