Unzer takes over Tillhub

Unzer had already acquired a stake in the Berlin start-up in 2020. Now comes the full takeover.
The payment service provider Unzer is taking over the Berlin start-up Tillhub. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The two companies have already worked closely together over the past two years. "The joint product developments and the exchange with the Tillhub team have shown that both sides benefit from a common path," says Robert Bueninck, CEO of Unzer. The acquisition will enable Unzer to use software designed to help combine e-commerce with brick-and-mortar retail. Tillhub will supplement its checkout systems with new payment solutions in the future.
"Seamlessly merging brick-and-mortar and online retail is our goal and with Unzer we have the opportunity to fully exploit our potential," says Tim Seithe, founder and CEO of Tillhub. He founded the start-up together with Rolf Oppitz, Frank Seithe and Stefan Haupthoff in 2015. The founders have developed a cloud-based POS system that can be combined with functions such as marketing tools and sales analyses. According to the company, Klier, Mister Spex and Fleurop are among the start-up's customers.
