US group takes over Leipzig-based start-up Mementor

The start-up has developed an "app on prescription" for sleep disorders. Now Resmed is taking over the Saxon health tech company.
The US healthcare group Resmed is taking over the Leipzig-based start-up Mementor. Resmed is thus expanding its portfolio in the field of sleep medicine with a digital therapy program for patients with sleep disorders. Mementor hopes that the takeover will make it better known in specialist circles and thus establish the therapy product.
Founded in 2014, the start-up Mementor has developed the permanently approved digital health application "Somio", which can be used by patients with sleep disorders. The app teaches patients sleep techniques and relaxation strategies. "The founders have identified the previously neglected and huge area of healthy sleep as an opportunity to help millions of people suffering from sleep disorders with a digital solution that is easy to use from home," says Katrin Pucknat, President at Resmed in Germany.
Mementor is to be integrated as a separate business unit of Resmed in Germany and will serve as a basis for further developments in the field of digital health. Mementor founder Noah Lorenz will head the division as Co-Managing Director. Resmed emphasizes that it wants to maintain the agility and creativity of the start-up and support the brand in its further growth.
