Vorwerk Ventures launches new fund

Although the financing climate for start-ups is significantly tighter than in the previous year, the VC now wants to invest 150 million euros in young companies.
Supported by the Vorwerk family business, the VC Vorwerk Ventures has launched a new fund for start-ups. According to a report in the Handelsblatt the fund will be worth 150 million euros. The goals are ambitious. The VC wants to use the money to build up upcoming unicorns.
The launch of the fund comes at a time when the financing climate for start-ups is tense. Compared to the first six months of the exceptional year 2021, the investment volume in Germany has fallen significantly. Even if not all investors want to talk about a crisis, at least one thing is currently becoming clear: hard figures are becoming more important again, especially for start-ups in later phases.
"We have greater opportunities to make interesting investments at reasonable valuations," Norbert Muschong from Vorwerk Ventures told Handelsblatt, explaining the launch of the fund. This is because, as is currently becoming clear, the sometimes very high valuations for companies are falling again, which makes investments easier.
According to its own information, Vorwerk Ventures usually invests in the seed or Series A financing round. The investments are between one and ten million euros. Follow-up financing of up to 15 million euros in further financing rounds is also possible, according to the VC.
