Robert Bueninck worked for the Swedish fintech Klarna for over eight years, most recently as Managing Director for the DACH region. He is now moving to Heidelberg-based start-up Unzer.

Heidelberg-based fintech Unzer (formerly Heidelpay) has found a new COO in Robert Bueninck. With immediate effect, Bueninck is responsible for business development in the areas of sales and marketing and therefore for Unzer's sales strategy, onboarding and the expansion of its customer base throughout Europe. "Robert is a true expert in the payment industry. I am therefore delighted that we have been able to recruit him for Unzer," says Dr. Axel Rebien, CEO of Unzer.

Unzer is a platform for international payment transactions. With its technical solutions, the start-up processes various payment types, automatically analyzes customer behavior and offers risk management. Bueninck's move from competitor Klarna could mean that the Heidelberg-based fintech wants to focus more on invoice and installment purchases in the future.

He is delighted to be a part of Unzer and to support the start-up in "becoming a European heavyweight in payments", says the new COO.
