The start-up Metismotion wants to make individual, quickly configured and sustainable electric motors accessible to everyone. It has now raised €1.5 million in a recent financing round, which also includes High-Tech Gründerfonds.

The start-up Metismotion has raised 1.5 million euros in a recent financing round. Investors include Born2grow, a subsidiary of ZFHN Zukunftsfonds Heilbronn, Siemens Technology Accelerator (STA) and High-Tech Gründerfonds. Since 2018, Metismotion has been developing actuators that are used as special electric motors in automation, for example in robots. The start-up is a spin-off from the Siemens Group.

The money will be used to make the technology accessible to a larger customer group. So far, there have been several pilot projects with Metismotion's solutions. "Metismotion has proven with its first customers that it can develop and manufacture high-performance actuators for the most demanding environmental conditions," says Rudolf Freytag, CEO of STA.

Now the next step is the launch of the Naxture platform in the summer, which will enable customers to configure individual actuators for the smallest installation spaces. "Metismotion was already very close to the market and active in many application areas at the time of the spin-off," says Thomas Villinger from Zukunftsfonds Heilbronn. "We are therefore looking forward to the further roll-out. We see great market opportunities - and not just nationally."
