Sub Capitals completes pre-seed finals

It is the first money from investors for Sub Capitals: In its pre-seed financing round, Sino AG is providing a six-figure sum in the form of a convertible loan. A next round is planned for 2022.

Sub Capitals gets its first investor on board. Sino AG joins the Munich-based fintech via its investment company and provides a six-figure sum in the form of a convertible loan. The pre-seed round is the first external financing for the start-up, which was founded in 2017. Seed financing is planned for early 2022.

Sub Capitals intends to use the money to expand its team, and the first product launch with "well-known banking-as-a-service partners" is scheduled for the first half of 2022. In addition to Sino AG, the fintech has also brought expert knowledge into the company: Dieter Rottmeir, a capital market specialist, and Frank Borchard, who worked at HSBC and the Max Planck Institute for Brain Research, will be at Sub Capital's side as advisors in future. The start-up aims to give small investors access to the capital market using the same technologies that large funds use. The start-up's AI takes over the management of the portfolio and everything is bundled in one app.

"We find the idea and the concept very exciting and promising. We were also impressed by the team," says Ingo Hillen from Sino AG. Initial talks between Sub Capitals and Sino AG regarding an investment already took place at the end of 2020. The investor is best known for its early financing of Trade Republic; most recently, Sino gave money to the social trading network Getquin.
