Sub Capitals completes pre-seed fundraiser

It is the first money by investors for Sub Capitals: In its pre-seed financing round, Sino AG gives a six-digit sum in the form of a convertible loan. A next round is planned for 2022.

Sub Capitals gets its first investor on board. Sino AG joins the Munich-based fintech via its investment company and gives a six-figure sum in the form of a convertible loan. The pre-seed round is the first debt financing for the startup, which was founded in 2017. Seed funding is planned for early 2022.

Sub Capitals plans to use the money to expand its team, and it also plans to hold its first product launch with "well-known banking-as-a-service partners" in the first half of 2022. In addition to Sino AG, the fintech has also brought expert knowledge into the company: Dieter Rottmeir, a capital market specialist, and Frank Borchard, who worked at HSBC and the Max Planck Institute for Brain Research, will be at Sub Capital's side as advisors in the future. The start-up wants to give small investors access to the capital market with the same technologies that large funds use. To do this, the startup's AI will take over portfolio management, bundled all in one app.

"We find the idea and the concept very exciting and promising. The team has also convinced us," says Ingo Hillen from Sino AG. Initial talks between Sub Capitals and Sino AG about an investment already took place at the end of 2020. The investor is mainly known for the early financing for Trade Republic, most recently Sino gave money to the social trading network Getquin.
