30 million euros for freeway campers

With the new financing, the start-up wants to expand to France and Eastern Europe, among other countries.

The start-up plans to use the new funding to expand into France and Eastern Europe, among other countries.

The start-up Freewaycamper has just raised 30 million euros in funding, as the company announced on Linkedin announced. The financing consists of equity, venture debt and debt capital. The Czech fund Rockaway Ventures is leading the round. Bridge to Growth is also involved.

The start-up offers a camper rental service where vehicles can be booked directly online. Founded in 2019, the company is backed by ex-Flixbus manager Nikolai Voitiouk-Blum and his wife Julia Blum. In addition to campers and motorhomes, the company also arranges around 1,000 campsites on its website. The company currently offers its vehicles for rent in Austria, Italy, Poland and Switzerland.

With the new funding, the start-up also wants to expand into France, Spain, Portugal, the UK and Eastern Europe. "We are observing that the camping trend and demand are now very strong, especially in Eastern European countries such as Poland and the Czech Republic," says founder Voitiouk-Blum to start-up scene.
