Autovio closes financing round

The Berlin-based start-up has raised over three million euros and wants to digitize the driving school industry.

The driving school start-up Autovio has successfully completed a financing round and raised over three million euros. According to the company, the backers include existing shareholders as well as new investors such as Cologne-based venture capitalist Coparion, which focuses on technology companies. Autovio intends to use the money to further expand its two apps, hire new customer support staff and acquire additional partners in Germany.

The Berlin-based start-up has set itself the goal of digitizing the driving school industry and is aimed at both learner drivers and driving instructors. Learners can book and pay for driving lessons or study for their theory test via an app. Driving instructors can handle administrative tasks via an app that, for example, automatically generates invoices for them. The company, which was launched in September 2021, also supports driving instructors in setting up new businesses.

"As an innovative driving school service, Autovio is committed to the mission of digitalizing the entire driving school industry in order to help driving schools work more efficiently and create better learning environments," says Tom Kedor, who founded the start-up together with Carsten Eckmiller, Philipp Goebel and Amir Hadi, describing the aim of the offering.

Toba Spiegel, Senior Investment Manager at Coparion, praises the scalability of Autovio, which relies on a partner model. "Ultimately, we see Autovio's driving school services as just the beginning of a large platform for early mobility."
