Crowd.dev receives 2.2 million euros

Crowd.dev's development tools will be available as open source in the future. The company announced this at the same time as the financing round.
The developer platform Crowd.dev has received 2.2 million euros in a pre-seed financing round. Seedcamp and Lightbird led the round, with Possible Ventures, Angel Invest and Nevrseen also participating. Business angels such as Docsend founder Russ Heddleston, consultant Cedric Sellin, Scalevector co-founder Matthäus Krzykowski and Christian Stiebner also invested.
Crowd.dev has existed since 2021 and offers a platform for the development of online communities. The start-up has developed analysis tools and makes them available to developers so that they can quickly build a community. According to Crowd.dev, several hundred open source companies have already taken part in the closed beta, including Meilisearch, Crowdsec and Dragonfly.
At the same time as the funding round, Crowd.dev also announced that it would be offering its development tools as open source in future. "The main reason for the switch to open source was to create a dedicated community where developers and companies come together to develop community-led software," writes Crowd.dev founder Jonathan Reimer in the announcement.
