After a pilot phase lasting several months, e-bikes with a Dance subscription are now on the streets of Berlin. First, those on the waiting list will have their e-bike delivered to their front door.

Repaired within 24 hours, delivered to your doorstep, available on a subscription model and developed in Germany - Dance's e-bikes meet all the needs of urban people. And this is exactly what the Berlin start-up is aiming for: they want to make cities more liveable and support mobility with their e-bikes, making cars superfluous. The e-bike provider is now launching in Berlin after a pilot phase lasting several months. From today, the bikes will be delivered to customers on the waiting list.

"After almost a year of testing our hardware, software and service components, I am proud to now be able to offer our service to all Berliners who, together with our community, want to contribute to a healthier, more climate-friendly and more liveable city," says CEO Eric Quidenus-Wahlforss. Together with Alexander Ljung, he co-founded Soundcloud, and in 2020 the two joined forces with Jimdo founder Christian Springub to launch Dance. The first money came at the beginning of 2020. In October 2020, the Berliners raised 15 million euros in their Series A financing round, followed by another four million euros from investors in July of this year. Today, Dance employs 40 people.

The e-bikes can travel up to 55 kilometers on their battery and reach speeds of up to 25 kilometers per hour. In Berlin, the repair service is available within the S-Bahn rings within 24 hours and the subscription costs 79 euros per month. The bike can also be connected to a smartphone, for example for location services or route planning.
