The Munich-based IoT start-up Corrux goes to the Viennese company Gropyus. No amount is known, but founder Tönnies explains the exit with difficulties in the construction industry.

Originally only a financing round was on the cards, but then Laura Tönnies received a purchase offer and started looking around for interested parties. The founder has now sold her start-up Corrux to Gropyus, another start-up from the proptech sector. No amount is known, but the Corrux workforce will be taken over.

Tönnies explains the early exit to Gründerszene"The brewing industry can be pretty tough and sluggish." And states: "We don't have the time to sit this out as a lone fighter." Together with Gropyus, Corrux is now entering a new phase. The Munich-based IoT company is dedicated to the digitalization of construction sites by collecting data to speed up processes and detect problems and errors at an early stage. Just a few months ago, Tönnies brought Andreas Witt into the company as CTO, and she thanks him for the exit news on LinkedIn for "the loyal partnership, your empathy and your ability to spark a hunger for innovation in the sometimes still digitally shy industry." The entrepreneur is still deciding on Tönnies' future role after the exit.

Gropyus is backed by investor Florian Fritsch, who made money from the IPO of Delivery Hero and the sale of the start-up Relayr. He is Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Gropyus. The Viennese company plans and builds houses, with sustainability and digitalization playing a key role through smart home approaches, for example.
