Munich-based IoT startup Corrux is going to Vienna-based Gropyus. Nothing is known about a sum, founder Tönnies also justifies the exit with difficulties in the construction industry.

Actually, only a financing round was pending, but then Laura Tönnies received a purchase offer and started looking for interested parties. Now the founder has sold her start-up Corrux to the start-up Gropyus, which also comes from the proptech industry. Nothing is known about a sum, the staff of Corrux will be taken over.

Tönnies justifies the early exit to Gründerszene"The brewing industry can be quite tough and sluggish." And notes : "We don't have the time to sit it out as a lone wolf." Together with Gropyus, Corrux is now starting a new phase. The Munich-based IoT company is dedicated to digitizing construction sites by aggregating data to speed up processes and detect problems and errors early. Just a few months ago, Tönnies brought Andreas Witt into the company as CTO, thanking him on the exit news on LinkedIn for "the loyal partnership, your empathy and your ability to ignite a hunger for innovation on the sometimes still digitally shy floor of the industry." The entrepreneur is still deciding on Tönnies' further role after the exit.

Behind Gropyus is investor Florian Fritsch, who made money on the IPO of Delivery Hero and the sale of startup Relayr. At Gropyus, he is chairman of the supervisory board. The Viennese company plans and builds houses, with sustainability and digitalization playing a decisive role through smart home approaches, for example.
