The booking platform for corporate events recovers after the coronavirus pandemic and expands.

The Event Inc. Group is taking over the German MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions) provider Aloom and the Dutch event location and conference hotel portal Ispiratie Op Locatie. Both brands will remain, but the technical platforms will be merged, the company announced. The Event Inc. Group expects Inspiratie Op Locatie to expand rapidly in the Netherlands and Aloom to expand its customer base to include other DAX companies.

According to the event group, the consolidations are a "flight forward" after the MICE industry was hit hard by the measures against the coronavirus pandemic. The company, which was founded in 2014, already took over "smart and more", an agency for event concepts, last year.

The company also wants to change the "fragmented and analog" corporate events market in Europe through these acquisitions. "We are stepping up to digitize the event industry in Europe," says Paul Philipp Hermann, CEO of the Event Inc. group. "For this to succeed, we must also consolidate the fact that corporate customers are still too reliant on different platforms and isolated solutions for digital booking."
