Founders would vote Green

According to a recent survey, more than half of all start-up entrepreneurs would vote for the party.

The Greens are currently the most popular party among German entrepreneurs. This was the result of a survey conducted by the German Startups Association and PwC among around 2,000 managers of young companies. Spiegel.

The survey revealed that the party preferences of entrepreneurs have changed significantly in recent years: Two years after more than 30 percent of respondents said they would vote CDU/CSU, the Greens have gained an absolute majority (50.8 percent) for the first time since the surveys began, while the CDU/CSU remains at 10 percent.

The FDP would also lose ground: Only around 26% of founders would still support the Liberals if federal elections were held on Sunday. The FDP continues to receive financial and idealistic support from a number of prominent figures in the start-up scene, including investors Frank Thelen, Georg Kofler and Carsten Maschmeyer. It was still the most popular party among start-ups in 2018.

The SPD, which received 5.9% of the vote, did not receive a chancellor bonus, and neither the Left Party nor the AfD were able to gain more than 2% in the survey. Magdalena Oehl, deputy head of the federal association, said: "In the eyes of the start-up ecosystem, the Greens seem to have all of this covered the most."
