Founders would vote Green

According to a recent survey, more than half of all start-up entrepreneurs would vote for the party.

Among German founders, the Greens are currently the most popular party. That was the finding of a survey of around 2,000 executives of young companies by the German Startups Association and PwC.Reporting on the survey, the Mirror.

The survey found that entrepreneurs' party preferences have changed significantly in recent years: Two years after more than 30 percent of respondents said they would vote CDU/CSU, the Greens have gained an absolute majority (50.8 percent) for the first time since polls began, while the CDU/CSU remains at 10 percent.

The FDP would also lose ground: Only around 26 percent of the founders would still support the Liberals if federal elections were held on Sunday. The FDP continues to receive financial and idealistic support from a number of prominent figures in the startup scene, including investors Frank Thelen, Georg Kofler and Carsten Maschmeyer. It was still the most popular party among startups in 2018.

The SPD, which received 5.9 percent of the vote, did not get a chancellor's bonus, and neither the Left Party nor the AfD gained more than 2 percent in the poll. Magdalena Oehl, vice president of the national association, commented, "All of that seems to be most covered by the Greens in the eyes of the startup ecosystem."
