Hornetsecurity wins investor

The Hanover-based start-up has once again brought a private equity partner on board. The money could also be used for strategic acquisitions.

SaaS provider Hornetsecurity has a new investor. The private equity firm TA Associates is joining the Hanover-based company. A corresponding agreement on a "strategic growth investment" has been signed, the companies announced. The parties have agreed not to disclose the exact terms and amount of the investment.

Hornetsecurity offers cyber security software, for example to protect email clouds. The main product is the 365 Total Protection Suite, which is aimed at companies that use the Microsoft 365 program. According to Hornetsecurity, it already has a total of two million users. PSG Equity and Verdane have already invested in the start-up in the past.

"We are delighted to welcome TA as a new partner and to continue our partnership with PSG Equity and Verdane to further invest in growth and product innovation in the future," says Hornetsecurity founder and CEO Daniel Hofmann. TA Associates was also pleased with the agreement. "We believe the company has great potential to expand its product portfolio and geographic footprint, both organically and through strategic acquisitions," said the investor.
