The Hanover-based start-up is once again bringing a private equity partner on board. The money could also be used for strategic acquisitions.

The SaaS provider Hornetsecurity has a new investor. The private equity firm TA Associates is joining the Hanover-based company. A corresponding agreement on a "strategic growth investment" has been signed, the companies announced. More detailed terms and the amount were not disclosed.

Hornetsecurity offers cyber security software, for example to protect e-mail clouds. Its main product is the 365 Total Protection Suite, which is aimed at companies that use the Microsoft 365 program. In total, Hornetsecurity says it already has two million users. In the past, PSG Equity and Verdane have invested in the startup.

"We are pleased to welcome TA as a new partner, as well as to continue our partnership with PSG Equity and Verdane to invest further in growth and product innovation in the future," said Hornetsecurity founder and CEO Daniel Hofmann. TA Associates also expressed satisfaction with the agreement. "We believe the company has great potential to expand its product portfolio and geographic footprint, both organically and through strategic acquisitions," the investor shared.
