Logistics start-up Fliit is apparently on the brink of extinction

A financing round was actually planned for this year, but now, according to a media report, the Berlin start-up has appointed a provisional insolvency administrator and is facing the end of its business.
The logistics start-up Fliit is apparently on the brink of collapse. According to information from Deutsche Startups a provisional insolvency administrator has already been appointed for the Berlin-based company, which is now being wound up. Founded in 2016 by Flavio Alari, Jan Hoberg and Nils Hempel, Fliit connects transport companies with producers in the food industry.
In 2019, Fliit convinced renowned investors such as the shipping company Maersk and Alstin Capital, Carsten Maschmeyer's investment firm, and was able to raise ten million euros. At the time, the founders had big plans. They wanted to hire new employees and expand into other countries.
Fliit's annual reports show that the company's financial situation was getting worse and worse: while the net loss for 2018 was still at 3.9 million euros, it rose to 6.4 million euros in 2019 - even before the coronavirus pandemic. The annual report also states that Fliit is "currently in promising talks" with investors for a financing round for spring 2021, on which the "continued existence of the company" also depends.
The company itself has not yet commented publicly on the information.
