Solution found for CleverShuttle transportation

The future of CleverShuttle transportation in Germany is secure. Over 20 connections will remain in operation and 750 jobs have been saved.

Berlin - After months of negotiations, the team headed by insolvency administrator Mr. Sebastian Laboga from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH has found a solution for the future of the CleverShuttle services. These services, which were operated by various subsidiaries of the insolvent GHT Mobility GmbH, will remain in place and continue seamlessly. Around 750 jobs will remain secure.

Under the leadership of attorney Laboga, the transports could be transferred to new operators from November 1, 2023. Subsidiaries of Via Transportation Inc. and Deutsche Bahn AG will take over the transport services in future, which will preserve the jobs of the approximately 750 employees.

CleverShuttle operated 21 on-demand services in over 45 German municipalities. Deutsche Bahn will take over the services in the south-east and in Leipzig, while Via will operate the services in Hesse and Dresden. In Lower Saxony and Regensburg, regional operators will continue to run the services independently. Only a very small service in Bavaria will no longer be operated. Otherwise, all services have a secure future and even two new services were launched during the insolvency proceedings.

Individual solutions necessary in the various regions

GHT Mobility GmbH had been undergoing insolvency proceedings since May 2023, which were led by insolvency administrator Laboga. The business operations of the operating subsidiaries that ran the transport services continued during the proceedings and all passengers continued to be transported. GHT Mobility was responsible for IT and organizational tasks in the group and also carried out payroll accounting for non-insolvent subsidiaries.

Despite efforts to find an overall solution for GHT Mobility GmbH, an individual solution was necessary for the transport operations in the various regions. This process has now been completed and the transition to the new operators will be seamless. Laboga noted that creditors will also benefit from this solution and can expect an above-average rate.
