The corporate credit card start-up receives a seven-figure sum. Commerzbank is among the investors.

Fintech Pliant receives 5.5 million euros in a financing round. Among the investors is Carsten Maschmeyer's investment company Alstin with an alleged seven-figure sum, reports Gründerszene. Maschmeyer's early-stage VC Seed+Speed, Commerzbank's Main Incubator and the Saber family office from Austria are also involved. The company is now valued at eight to nine million euros, writes Capital. Maschmeyer's main task is to support the Berlin start-up with the difficult sales process.

Pliant offers corporate credit cards with high card limits. The Berlin-based company's new product is a credit card with CO2 compensation for company travel; in February, Pliant launched a "Visa Infinite" credit card . Its customers include Auxmoney, Clark and Jung von Matt.

"The founders have many years of fintech expertise and an enormous amount of detailed regulatory knowledge. Fully understanding this is essential in order to survive in this business," Maschmeyer told Gründerszene. Pliant wants to invest the money in the further development of its products and is aiming for internationalization. Pliant was founded in May 2020 by Fabian Terner and Malte Rau.
