Mietz completes pre-seed round

The start-up wants to shake up the real estate industry with a kind of Tinder for the housing market. Mario Götze is now investing, among others.
The Berlin-based proptech Mietz has raised one million euros in a pre-seed round. This is reported by Gründerszene. The capital comes mainly from angel investors, including Shutterstock founder Jon Oringer and professional footballer Mario Götze.
Mietz was founded in 2021 by Lena Tuckermann and Johann Kim. The start-up offers a kind of Tinder for the housing market. Users can upload their information and "swipe" through the listings in their city. The process also includes an integrated Schufa query and an identity check. The company is also working on a service for professional landlords.
The Mietz app is set to launch in October, initially in Berlin. Hamburg and Munich are to follow soon after. According to the company, the initial target group is students and young professionals aged between 20 and 40.
