With a kind of Tinder for the housing market, the start-up wants to shake up the real estate industry. Now Mario Götze, among others, is investing.

Berlin-based proptech Mietz has raised one million euros in a pre-seed round. This is reported Gründerszene. The capital comes mainly from angel investors, including Shutterstock founder Jon Oringer and professional soccer player Mario Götze.

Mietz was founded in 2021 by Lena Tuckermann and Johann Kim. The start-up offers a kind of Tinder for the housing market. Users can upload their information and "swipe" through listings in their city. The process also includes an integrated Schufa query and identity check. In parallel, the company is working on an offering for professional landlords.

The Mietz app is to be launched in October, initially in Berlin. Hamburg and Munich are to follow shortly thereafter. The target group will initially be students and young professionals between the ages of 20 and 40, according to the company.
