The start-up wants to use software to identify pathogens. The concept once again convinces investors.

The start-up Noscendo secures new capital in its Series B financing round to improve its diagnosis of infectious diseases. Revent and an undisclosed family office with a focus on life sciences are investing. The existing investors Earlybird Health, Wieland Capital, Paua Ventures and High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) are also said to have invested again. The exact amount of the investments is not known.

Noscendo intends to use the new financing to expand its operating business, invest in the further market launch of its Disqver tests based on IVD (in-vitro diagnostics) software, expand its management team and accelerate the development of its product platform. Further products are to be launched on the market this year.

"With Disqver, patients can be treated faster, more specifically and on the basis of reliable information about the pathogens responsible. This is helpful for both doctors and patients," says Philip Stevens, co-founder and CEO of Noscendo. He founded the company together with Silke Grumaz and Peter Haug in 2018. The start-up claims to be able to detect over 1,500 different pathogens from patient samples within 24 hours using a single test. This is possible thanks to the company's own platform.
