Pliant expands seed round to 18 million euros

Within four months, the start-up for corporate credit cards was able to increase its turnover fivefold. The investors have now followed suit.
Pliant only raised the equivalent of 5.7 million euros in August of this year. The Berlin-based start-up has now expanded its seed round to 18 million euros. Carsten Maschmeyer's fund Alstin Capital led the round. Finleap founder Ramin Niroumand participated for the first time with his fund Embedded/Capital. Commerzbank's Main Incubator and Saber have invested again.
"We have quintupled our sales since August. Now that the round has been completed, we can concentrate fully on expansion," says Managing Director and co-founder Malte Rau. It is not yet known which specific countries Pliant intends to expand into. According to information from the Handelsblatt the start-up will announce this at the beginning of next year.
Malte Rau and Fabian Terner founded Pliant in Berlin in 2020. The start-up offers credit cards for companies. All expenses and receipts are collected in a management tool that can also be linked to existing accounting software and travel expense solutions. In addition, corporate customers receive cashbacks when paying with the card.
