Raisin DS affected by hacker attack

Last Tuesday, the fintech Raisin DS fell victim to a hacker attack in which data from the Raisin Pension business unit was stolen. The leak has been repaired and customers and supervisory authorities have been informed.
Raisin DS has been affected by a hacker attack. As the fintech confirmed last Friday, criminals hacked data such as personal master data or bank information from Raisin Pension GmbH (formerly known as Fairr) on Tuesday a week ago. This part of the company offers pension products. It is not known how many customers use this line of business. Raisin DS has a total of 550,000 customers, after the fintech only recently became a company worth billions through the acquisition of its competitor Deposit Solutions.
On Friday, Rasin DS informed the public and its customers, and the supervisory authorities have also been involved. The fintech stated that it was aware of "isolated cases" of customers being contacted by spam emails or phone calls and asked everyone to change the passwords for their accounts. The most sensitive part, which was also hacked, are so-called hashes, which can lead to the hacking of passwords for online access "with very considerable technical effort". Raisin DS emphasized that at no time were the custody account assets at risk. The "cause of the data protection incident" had also been rectified.
In 2019, Raisin acquired the company still known as Fairr and integrated it into its offering. The merger between Deposit Solutions and Raisin only took place in June, shortly after which Raisin DS became Unicorn.
