Series A over EUR 6 million for Blue Heroes

BMH joins Blaue Helden with 6 million euros in Series A financing for cleaning and personal care products: Sustainability is the focus of the investment.
Wiesbaden - Blaue Helden, the start-up from Bad Homburg, has raised a total of over 5.98 million euros in a successful financing round. BMH Beteiligungs-Managementgesellschaft Hessen mbH is one of the investors. Blaue Helden focuses on the development of environmentally friendly cleaning and personal care products that can be refilled into existing plastic bottles. This reduces plastic consumption in private households.
With our partners, we can now bring affordable, convenient and therefore mass-market sustainability to households with even greater determination.
Christoph Heeren, founder of Blaue Helden
Blaue Helden will use the fresh capital from the financing round to expand its product range, optimize its merchandise management system and expand its marketing and sales. The start-up has already proven that its concept is successful and makes a positive contribution to sustainability. The investment by BMH Beteiligungs-Managementgesellschaft Hessen mbH is a further step in driving the growth of Blaue Helden.
Christoph Heeren founded Blaue Helden in 2020 with the aim of promoting climate and environmental protection through sustainable consumption alternatives. The start-up offers a diverse range of refillable cleaning and personal care products that are available both in retail stores and online. All Blaue Helden products are made from biodegradable, vegan ingredients and are free from microplastics and animal testing.
Climate and environmental protection is usually attributed to the corporate and government level, while the equally essential consumer level is often neglected.
Barbara Spitzenberg, Investment Manager BMH
According to a study by the Institute for Energy and Environmental Research in Heidelberg, the products are 18 times more environmentally friendly than conventional cleaning products. This is achieved by the lower transport weight and volume of the refill powder packets compared to liquid cleaners, which enables significant CO2 savings. Blue Heroes also offer the option of reusing existing containers free of charge, thereby reducing plastic waste.
Another reason for the popularity of the Blue Heroes brand is the close cooperation with Plastic Bank. For every product sold, a plastic bottle is removed from a beach area that is heavily polluted by plastic waste. To date, Blaue Helden has sold more than five million products and is listed in over 5,000 drugstores and grocery stores in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The company is now planning to enter the Eastern European market in the Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania.
