Solarisbank apparently increases earnings

According to the Berlin-based fintech, it was able to increase its total revenue by 84 percent to 35 million euros. Now it wants to conquer new markets in Europe.
In the 2020 financial year, Solarisbank apparently recorded income of 35 million euros. The Managing Director responsible for finance, Thom Rasser, told the Handelsblatt. Compared to the 2019 financial year, this would represent an increase of 84 percent. However, the Berlin-based fintech is not yet in the black. The loss for 2020 is likely to be 27 million euros. In 2019, it was still 23 million euros. "Growth is our priority. We are only aiming to break even in the medium term," Rasser told Handelsblatt.
Solarisbank plans to start its expansion abroad this year. The plan is to offer IBANs in France, Spain and Italy from the summer and to set up branches there. The last time the fintech received fresh money was in June 2020: Solarisbank raised 60 million euros in a financing round.
