Solarisbank apparently increases earnings

The Berlin-based fintech said it was able to increase its total revenues by 84 percent to €35 million. Now it wants to conquer new markets in Europe.

In the financial year 2020, Solarisbank was apparently able to record earnings in the amount of 35 million euros. This is what the managing director responsible for finance, Thom Rasser, told Handelsblatt. Compared to the 2019 financial year, this would mean an increase of 84 percent. However, the Berlin fintech has not yet arrived in the black with this. 27 million euros should be the loss for 2020. In 2019, it was still at 23 million euros. "Growth is our priority. Only in the medium term are we aiming to break even," Rasser tells Handelsblatt

in this regard.

Solarisbank plans to start its expansion abroad before the end of this year. The plan is to offer IBANs in France, Spain and Italy from the summer and to set up branches in each of these countries. The last time the fintech received fresh money was in June 2020: Solarisbank raised 60 million euros in a financing round.
