Spendit cooperates with Solarisbank and Visa
With Wirecard, Spendit has lost an important cooperation partner. The Munich-based fintech has now found an alternative.
The Wirecard insolvency continues to have an impact: Fintech Spendit had been working with a subsidiary of the group until the summer. Solarisbank and Visa are now the new partners. The fintech will issue its prepaid debit card, the SpenditCard, with them in future. "What we value about Solarisbank is the combination of technology expertise and a Bafin-regulated institution with a full German banking license," says Spendit CEO Florian Gottschaller.
Spendit is one of the largest providers of prepaid debit cards in Germany and its 5,500 corporate customers include Rewe and Lufthansa, among others. With the SpenditCard, employees have a voucher for their purchases, so to speak. According to the start-up, it is mainly used by employers for the €44 tax-free benefit in kind (known as a fuel voucher).
Since its failure in June, the start-up has been looking for a new service provider and has now found one in Solarisbank. Solarisbank announced its interest in acquiring Wirecard customers at an early stage.
