The Dutch edtech Studocu is taking over the Mannheim-based start-up Studybees. The price of the takeover is not known.

The start-up Studybees, founded in 2013, is now going to its Dutch competitor Studocu. Both companies are edtechs founded by students for students.

Julia Koper, Fabian Klein and Johannes Saal had the idea for Studybees during their studies. The founding trio started by offering exam preparation courses tailored to the respective degree courses and exams. According to their own information, 25,000 students from 40 cities across Germany took part. In 2016, the founders presented their idea on Die Höhle der Löwen. In 2019, the start-up expanded its offering to include an online platform. The content is primarily aimed at students of business administration, economics and law. According to Studybees, the platform has around 100,000 monthly users.

The founding team will continue to advise Studocu after the takeover. "We are very happy to have found a partner who shares our mission of helping all students to be successful in their studies and in life," says co-founder and Managing Director Julia Koper. With Studocu's success story, she is certain that the platform and the students are in good hands.
