Dutch edtech Studocu acquires Mannheim-based startup Studybees. The price of the acquisition is not known.

Studybees, a startup founded in 2013, is now going to Dutch competitor Studocu. Both companies are edtechs founded by students for students.

Julia Koper, Fabian Klein and Johannes Saal had the idea for Studybees while they were still studying. The founding trio started by offering exam preparation courses, tailored to the respective courses of study and exams. According to their own information, 25,000 students from 40 cities across Germany took part. In 2016, the founders presented their idea at Die Höhle der Löwen. In 2019, the start-up then expanded its offering to an online platform. The content is aimed primarily at students of business administration, economics and law. According to Studybees, the platform has around 100,000 monthly users.

The founding team will continue to advise Studocu after the acquisition. "We are very happy to have found a partner who shares our mission to help all students succeed in their studies and in life," says co-founder and CEO Julia Koper. With Studocu's track record, she says she is confident that the platform and students are in good hands.
