Comparison.org bought out

According to a media report, the Berlin-based product comparison platform is going to the British domain company Centralnic for up to 95 million euros.
VGL Verlagsgemeinschaft is going to the British company Centralnic for up to 95 million euros, according to OMR announced. Among other things, VGL operates the product comparison portal Vergleich.org. Based on an enterprise value of 60 million euros, Centralnic is initially paying 67 million euros for the start-up. However, the purchase price could increase by 38 million euros over the next few years as a result of additional agreements.
"We have decided to invest in the VGL Group because our analyses have shown that Vergleich.org is the best product comparison website in Europe," says Centralnic CEO Ben Crawford about the purchase. The British company is expected to finance the purchase by issuing new shares.
Valentin Dushe, Alexander Schneider and Leonard Quack founded VGL Verlagsgemeinschaft in 2015. The group now operates around 200 websites. Apparently Vergleich.org is particularly successful. Products and services are tested and evaluated on the portal. According to its own information, the portal has more than 3.4 million monthly readers. Even after the takeover by Centralnic, the founders remain on board.
