Weddyplace takes over Wonderwed

This means that the wedding planner start-up now has the largest selection of corresponding service providers in the German-speaking world.
The Berlin wedding start-up Weddyplace has swallowed up its competitor Wonderwed. This is the second takeover by founders and siblings Pauline and Daniel Koehler, who previously acquired Foreverly in summer 2019.
The acquisition of Wonderwed is intended to strengthen Weddyplace's position in the wedding market: Thanks to the 3,500 service providers gained, Weddyplace says it now has the largest selection in German-speaking countries.
The takeover comes at a time when Weddyplace is currently feeling hopeful again: After the damage caused to the industry by the pandemic, the company is hoping for a recovery and a significant increase in bookings in the coming year: "The pandemic has greatly changed the way weddings are planned. The majority of wedding planning now takes place online," says founder Pauline Koehler.
With over 12,000 connected service providers, Weddyplace is probably the most successful digital marketplace for wedding services in Germany. The start-up's investors include Mutschler Ventures, IBB Ventures, Axel Springer Plug & Play and Verena Pausder. Weddyplace has already helped over 50,000 bridal couples with their wedding planning.
