The story of the start-up Buying Show got off to a promising start in 2016, but it has since filed for insolvency. Its two founders Markus Fuhrmann and Ivan Herjavec have moved on, and the company itself cannot even cover the costs of the insolvency proceedings.

Buying Show had the best prerequisites to get off to a successful start as a start-up. Just one year after it was founded, it had already raised 2.4 million euros; its founders were well-known faces in the start-up scene, Markus Fuhrmann, co-founder of Delivery Hero, and Ivan Herjavec. The company wanted to serve as an interface between fashion labels and retailers. The latter could view the products online and order individual items to look at so that they could then add the garments to their range.

According to Gründerszene, the company is insolvent four years later and cannot even cover the costs of the insolvency proceedings. The local court in Berlin-Charlottenburg rejected the opening of proceedings "due to lack of assets", Gründerszene quotes a report from the court on November 23. According to Buying Show, it was already working with 100 manufacturers and 500 retailers in 2016. Well-known investors such as Rocket Internet and the online store Zalando were involved. Gründerszene asked the two founders, only Fuhrmann got back to us with the information that Buying Show had already been shut down last year. The website was still available at the beginning of December. On November 19, the website of Fashioning Space, a New York retail company, was posted on the associated Instagram channel. According to Ivan Herjavec, he now works there. The journey also continues for Fuhrmann: he has been involved in the venture capitalist Cavalry Ventures since it was founded in 2016. In July of this year, Cavalry Ventures closed a fund worth 80 million euros with 150 investors in Germany and abroad.
