Delivery Hero about to join Gorillas?

The delivery giant is said to be investing a nine-figure sum in the German unicorn. Good news for Gorillas after another takeover recently fell through.
A sensation is brewing in the competitive market for delivery services of all kinds: As the Manager Magazin reports that DAX-listed Delivery Hero is planning to acquire a stake in the 10-minute delivery service Gorillas. According to the report, the initial capital involved is 200 million euros, but even more money could flow in the future.
A notary appointment is already planned. The companies did not initially comment on the news. It would be a successful turnaround for Gorillas and its boss Kagan Sümer. Just a few days ago, it was announced that a potential investment by US competitor Doordash had fallen through.
Existing investors are also expected to participate in the new Gorillas financing round. Delivery Hero CEO Niklas Östberg had derided the Gorillas concept in the past as "networked late-night restaurants", but had recently entered the sector himself with the Foodpanda brand.
