The Hamburg-based proptech opens its first international office in Madrid.

Hamburg-based start-up Evernest is entering the Spanish market and opening its first office in Madrid. The company is thus continuing its growth trajectory. According to its own figures, Evernest tripled its turnover and transaction volume in the first half of 2022 compared to 2021. The number of employees has doubled to over 200 compared to the previous year.

The company states that it intends to expand into major European cities. The Spanish capital is the first location in this expansion drive. Madrid would be characterized by a high volume of real estate transactions and the lack of digitalization in the sector. "In such a large but highly fragmented and barely digitized market with mostly outdated workflows, the opportunities for us are huge," says founder and CEO Christian Evers.

Evernest is developing a technology platform to make the real estate transaction process more efficient. Former Engel & Völkers board member Christian Evers founded the start-up in 2019 together with Luisa Haxel, who was responsible for digital strategy at Engel & Völkers. At the beginning of 2022, the company completed a financing round worth 13 million euros. Investors included the New York VC Prudence and the Spanish fund Kibo Ventures.
