Exit from Fintus

It was only in September that investor Anacap bought the start-up WebID Solutions, and now the British investor has struck again and acquired a majority stake in Frankfurt-based fintech Fintus.
Investor Anacap has acquired a majority stake in fintech Fintus and intends to continue investing in expansion, new talent and growth. Fintus has been in existence since 2017 and offers low-code solutions for banks that enable them to independently digitalize and simplify their credit processes - from initial customer contact to portfolio management.
According to its own figures, Fintus was able to increase its turnover by 150% in 2021 compared to the previous year. Until now, most of the fintech was owned by the founder himself; with the exit, he is selling part of his stake but will remain with the company. Customers include banks such as Grenke and Toyota Bank, and Deutsche Bank is also said to be involved. When asked by Finance Forward, Hermanns did not want to comment on this. What the founder did confirm, however, is that the 45-strong team will double in size in the coming year and the money from the exit will be used to expand and acquire tech components, as Hermanns revealed to the magazine.
"In line with our other successful DACH investments, we will invest significant funds in further expanding the management and business development team, introducing new sales channels and exploring opportunistic buy-and-build strategies," explains Anacap partner Tassilo Arnhold.
This is the British investor's second acquisition of a fintech this year. As recently as September, the investor bought WebID Solutions, and Anacap also acquired a stake in payment service provider Unzer. This was recently acquired by the investor KKR.
