The manager will become Chief Financial & Risk Officer of the fintech company. He wants to better integrate acquisitions and merge the organization.

Payment service provider Unzer (formerly Heidelpay) has appointed Jacob von Ingelheim to its management team. The 40-year-old will become Chief Financial & Risk Officer based in Munich and will report directly to CEO Axel Rebien. "Unzer is in a unique position with a strong track record, ambitious investors and a great team," said von Ingelheim in a company statement. "Going forward, we will play an important role in the ever-changing European payments market. Unzer already has a first-class, customer-oriented omnichannel offering and will continue to expand this in the future. I am very excited about the CFRO role at Unzer and look forward to the more agile environment at Unzer. One of my goals is to optimally integrate the acquisitions and bring the organization together with the management." Von Ingelheim comes from payment service provider Klarna, where he was Vice President Analytics.

Unzer was founded in 2003 and offers a platform for international payment transactions, whether online, mobile or in-store. The modules that can be integrated cover the entire spectrum of payment management: from the processing of various payment types to automated analyses of customer behavior and needs to holistic risk management. Customers include Immobilienscout24 and Depot. The majority shareholder since last year is the US investment company KKR.

Almost two months ago, Unzer introduced Sebastian Wenzel as the new Vice President Group Marketing and Robert Bueninck as Chief Commercial Officer. "With Jacob, we have gained another top manager from the payment industry," says CEO Rebien. "He has previously managed Bafin-licensed companies and brings the perfect mix of deep financial expertise, strategic business development knowledge and a startup mentality. We are delighted to have him on board at Unzer and look forward to taking the company to the next level of growth together with the new management team."
