It was only in September that investor Anacap bought up start-up WebID Solutions, and now the British investor has struck again, acquiring a majority stake in Frankfurt-based fintech Fintus.

Investor Anacap has acquired a majority stake in fintech Fintus and plans to invest further in expansion, new talent and development. Fintus has been in existence since 2017 and offers low-code solutions for banks, enabling them to independently digitize and simplify their credit processes - from initial customer contact to portfolio management.

By its own account, Fintus was able to increase its revenue by 150 percent in 2021 compared to the previous year. Until now, most of the fintech belonged to the founder himself; with the exit, he is selling part of his stake, but will remain with the company. Customers include, for example, the banks Grenke and Toyota Bank, and Deutsche Bank is also said to be involved. When asked by Finance Forward, Hermanns did not want to comment on this. What the founder did confirm, however, is that the 45-strong team will double in size in the coming year and the money from the exit will be used to expand and acquire tech components, Hermanns revealed to the magazine.

"In line with our other successful DACH investments, we will invest significant funds to further expand the management and business development team, introduce new distribution channels and explore opportunistic buy-and-build strategies," Anacap partner Tassilo Arnhold explained.

For the British investor, this is already the second acquisition of a fintech this year. In September, the investor bought WebID Solutions, and Anacap also acquired payment service provider Unzer. The latter was recently bought by the investor KKR.
