Flink buys French competitor Cajoo

According to a media report, this makes the Berlin-based start-up the market leader in France.
The food delivery service Flink is taking over its French competitor Cajoo, according to the Handelsblatt reports. According to company sources, Cajoo is said to have gone to Flink for less than 100 million euros, as reported by the medium. The exact purchase price is not known. At the same time as the takeover, the French retail company Carrefour also joined Flink and became a trading partner.
Cajoo is said to have six million customers in Paris and the next eight largest cities in France. With the takeover, Flink not only gains these customers, but also new employees and storage space in the centers of major French cities.
Oliver Merkel, Julian Dames and Christoph Cordes founded Flink in 2020. The start-up offers 2,200 items in its online store that customers would normally buy in the supermarket. Users can order the items via an app and then receive the goods at their doorstep within minutes, according to the company. The delivery service cooperates with the grocery store Rewe.
