Hellofresh Go is bankrupt

The pandemic has hit the Hellofresh subsidiary hit hard. Now it is to be restructured.

According to information from t3n, Hellofresh Go has applied for insolvency proceedings to be opened. Insolvency administrator Joachim Voigt-Salus and lawyer Stephanie Hotopp are now to help with the restructuring of the Hellofresh subsidiary. Operations are currently continuing as normal and the food vending machines for corporate customers will also continue to be filled.

Hellofresh Go was launched in 2018 as a spin-off from Hellofresh. The subsidiary supplies food vending machines at corporate customers with meal boxes. Employees of companies such as Zalando, Bosch and Delivery Hero can then get a meal from the vending machine. Hellofresh Go wanted to create an alternative to the canteen. According to the company, 24,000 people per week used the service in January 2021.

"The new way of working that has developed since the start of the pandemic and the significantly lower capacity utilization of the offices over several years have made business structurally more difficult for Hellofresh Go," Hellofresh Head of Communications Saskia Leisewitz told t3n. However, the insolvency filing has no financial impact on Hellofresh itself, as the Group has written off its investment in the 2021 annual financial statements.
