High-Tech Gründerfonds enters the fourth round

The HTGF IV fund will invest in the areas of digital tech, industrial tech, chemicals and life sciences.
High-Tech Gründerfonds has started fundraising for its fourth fund. HTGF IV is intended to support start-ups from the digital tech, industrial tech, chemicals and life sciences sectors with early financing. HTGF focuses on public-private partnerships and aims to bring companies together with young start-ups in addition to pure financing. "With HTGF IV, we are investing in a new generation of founders who, with their ideas and companies, are making a decisive contribution to Germany's innovative strength and the competitiveness of German companies," says Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Peter Altmaier (CDU).
With the first three funds, HTGF has already invested in 600 start-ups and has successfully sold more than 130 investments. In total, HTGF has already invested 900 million euros. There are currently 33 industrial groups and medium-sized companies involved in the third fund, which have contributed more than a third of the fund volume. These include BASF, Bayer, Bosch and Deutsche Bank. "We have shown that the business investors involved derive considerable added value from working with the portfolio companies," says HTGF Managing Director Alex von Frankenberg. "In addition, our fund investors are very close to the pulse of innovation, recognize new technology trends, innovative business models, gain access to co-investment opportunities and a wealth of know-how."
