Bertelsmann Investments focuses increasingly on digital health

Gütersloh, November 7, 2024 - Bertelsmann Investments (BI) is further advancing its commitment to the growth market of digital health with follow-on investments in the innovative companies Doccla and deepc as well as new investments in the startups Guardoc Health and Pi Health. BI is thus continuing its strategic expansion as part of the Bertelsmann Next initiative, which is focused on the future market of digital healthcare.
Innovative solutions for the healthcare market
- Doccla: Market leader in the European field of Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM), the technology enables effective remote monitoring of patients in the home environment by healthcare professionals. With an interoperable, data-secure platform, Doccla improves efficiency in the healthcare sector and relieves the burden on hospitals.
- deepc: The deepcOS® platform is a cloud-native, vendor-independent solution for AI-supported radiology that seamlessly integrates workflows in clinics and practices. In this way, deepc facilitates the provision of precise diagnoses and supports AI software providers in gaining access to a broad customer base.
- Guardoc Health: Guardoc optimizes clinical documentation and compliance in care facilities. This automation relieves the burden on nursing staff, improves billing accuracy and ensures compliance with legal requirements.
- Pi Health: As an end-to-end platform for clinical trials, Pi Health offers an integrated solution for research institutions and sponsors to plan and conduct trials more efficiently.
Growth through strategic investments

BI plans to continue supporting the dynamic development of the digital healthcare market. Since the beginning of 2024, 30 new and follow-on investments have been made worldwide, bringing the active portfolio to 374 investments.
Our investments in the digital health sector are part of the strategic direction of Bertelsmann Next. Since the start in 2022, we have invested around €120 million in this pioneering market and continue to see great potential.
